La Hasta is a unique ski and pyrenean holiday venue... Open all year round.
Situated on the edge of the Parc Naturel Régional Pyrénées Ariégeoises, La Hasta Gite nestles on the sunny side of the Courbière Valley, at the head of which sits the 2000+ metre Pic des Trois Seigneurs. We can host up to 8 people in our gite and up to 3 in the cottage.
In the winter, from mid December to early April, La Hasta Gite is the ideal Ariege Pyrenees base for winter sports including snowshoeing, mountaineering and skiing... alpine, nordic and backcountry... We are close to the resorts of Ax-les Thermes, Plateau de Beille and the ski runs of Andorra (which as well as having duty free status has 282 kilometres of pistes). To help you prepare for your days in the mountains we also offer optional yoga sessions.
In the summer (mid April to the end of November), we run retreats and holidays that offer a mix of outdoors adventure sports and yoga... Alternatively you can just hire La Hasta Gite and do your own thing.
Our area of the Ariege Pyrenees is perfect for all manner of outdoor sports including rock climbing (sport and trad routes from single to 35 pitches... Our local crags, Calames and Roc de Sedour, are just minutes away), mountaineering, hiking, canyoning, canoeing, cycling (road and off-road) and paragliding.
At the end of a hard day in the mountains, you can relax and cool down by our 10 by 5 metre pool, which has a staggering view of the Roc de Sedour
Within easy reach of La Hasta Gite are the Niaux cave (famous for its prehistoric paintings), historic cathar citadels, thermal spas and typical French market towns.
The 'Niaux Limestone - Climbing in the Ariege Pyrenees' guidebook has just been published!
Created by Graham Lynch... The new English language guidebook offers a comprehensive guide to the climbing in the area around the village of Niaux, including the major crags of Alliat, Genat and Baychon.
To celebrate the arrival of this magnificent new book, we are offering a free copy (usually costs €20.00) to anyone who books to stay in our big gite during September or October 2011.
